About

Associate Professor Al Muderis specialises in hip, knee and trauma surgery with interest in hip arthroscopy, resurfacing, knee arthroplasty and reconstruction of recurrent patellar dislocations.
He joined the Australian Orthopaedic training programme in 2004 as part of the Sydney, NSW orthopaedic training scheme and obtained his surgical Fellowship (FRACS (Orth)) in 2008. Associate Professor Al Muderis completed three post specialisation Fellowships.
First, Associate Professor Al Muderis attended a six-month national Fellowship in Sydney with Dr Ali Gursel in lower limb arthroplasty at the Sydney Adventist and Baulkham Hills Hospitals. Second, he moved overseas to Berlin, Germany where he attended a nine-month Fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty at the Emil von Behring Hospital a Teaching Hospital of the Charite Medical School, Berlin with Professor Dr med Jorg Scholz. His third post was a three-month trauma Fellowship at the Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin (UKB), a Teaching Hospital of the Charite Medical School, Berlin, Germany with Professor Dr med Axel Ekkernkamp.
He commenced his practice in 2010 and is currently a Clinical Lecturer at Macquarie University Hospital and The Australian School of Advanced Medicine.
