Dr Schneider has a particular interest in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery focusing on first MTP joint replacement, ankle arthroscopy, hind foot reconstruction and forefoot reconstruction.

He completed his medical training at Monash University. After working extensively at the Alfred Hospital and Monash Medical Centre, he went on to advanced orthopaedic training with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and Australian Orthopaedic Association.

Dr Schneider spent some time as a locum orthopaedic surgeon in country Victoria before travelling to Texas and Italy to complete foreign Fellowships in foot and ankle surgery and Ilizarov external fixation techniques. He was the Foot and Ankle Fellow at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in the USA with a particular interest in ankle arthroplasty, hind foot reconstruction, diabetic foot disease and forefoot disorders.

He went on to take a position as Visiting Fellow at Ospdedale di Lecco in Northern Italy, which is an international centre for the study and application of Ilizarov external fixation techniques. Dr Schneider maintains an interest in Ilizarov techniques, has several international publications and is a regular speaker at Foot and Ankle Society meetings.

Dr Schneider returned to his home town of Melbourne to take up a position as a Visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon at Monash Medical Centre and Sandringham Hospital as part of the Bayside and Alfred Health networks. From January 2011, he has worked exclusively at the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group in Windsor and Hawthorn.
