About

Dr Wilkinson's special interests include joint replacement and sports injuries of hip, knee and upper limb with particular areas of interest including arthroscopy, joint preservation procedures, joint replacement surgery as well as orthopaedic research.

He graduated in medicine from The University of Queensland in 1999. Dr Wilkinson completed his Fellowship in orthopaedics in 2009. He has completed subspeciality Fellowships in sports injuries and arthroscopic procedures at The University of British Columbia, Vancouver in Canada and a Fellowship in lower limb arthroplasty and sports injuries of the hip and knee in London, UK.

Dr Wilkinson is a Visiting Medical Officer at The Townsville Hospital. He is the co-director of the Orthopaedic Research Institute of Queensland (ORIQL) and is an adjunct senior lecturer at James Cook University. For the past two years, Dr Wilkinson has operated his private practice in Pimlico and operates at the Mater Hospital on a weekly basis.
