Dr Janes specialises in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee and hip. He trained in orthopaedic surgery in the UK and Perth and achieved his orthopaedic Fellowship in 1994.

Dr Janes specialises in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee and hip. He trained in orthopaedic surgery in the UK and Perth and achieved his orthopaedic Fellowship in 1994.
He subsequently completed a Fellowship in upper limb surgery with Dr David Hale and Dr Peter Honey in upper limb surgery.
Dr James was a Senior Lecturer with The University of Western Australia in Orthopaedic Surgery for four years and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to Royal Perth Hospital for eight years. He has been the WA representative to the Board of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
He has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery for the past eight years and consults in West Perth.
