Orthopaedic Fellowship Information
The Fellowship is an integral part of the Orthopaedic Unit of the University of Melbourne (Western Health) & is principally concerned with the teaching of orthopaedic aspects of shoulder and elbow surgery including joint replacement, arthroplasty & all types of arthroscopic surgery. The Fellow attends a number of operating sessions every week with predominantly of the shoulder & elbow cases. In the public hospital there is a weekly list with Professor Bell, where the Fellow has supervised operating. In the private sector, the role is as an assistant. Applicants should aspire to full-time or major part-time shoulder and elbow or upper limb surgery. The applicant will produce at least one research project to final draft stage for a peer reviewed journal during the tenure of the Fellowship.There are a number of ongoing research projects, all in upper limb, in which the Fellow is required to be involved.
Stipend

Approx AU$70-80,000 pa from various sources

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have completed their training in Orthopaedic Surgery. The applicant must have evidence of research experience including evidence of relevant published research. Applicants must hold or
