This is a specialist Fellowship Programme for qualified orthopaedic surgeons wishing to extend their expertise in lower limb, knee and shoulder surgery.
The Fellowship is to provide experience and training in total joint arthroplasty, training in navigation, seminars on complex and difficult cases and clinical discussions.
This Fellowship involves exposure to all aspects of hip and knee arthroplasty surgery including new robotic innovations.
The Fellowship focuses on the Fellow obtaining a broad knowledge of all aspects of foot and ankle surgery. The Fellow will experience elective and trauma foot and ankle surgery and become competent performing such surgery.
The Fellow will have a keen interest to further their clinical knowledge and practical skills. It is predominantly a hip and knee private practice experience with a public hospital affiliation.
This Fellowship will enable the Fellow on completion to successfully assess and examine hip patients; perform hip arthroscopy and hip osteotomies; assist and partially perform Ganz Peri-acetabular Osteotomies; and assist and later perform hip replacements via an anterior approach.
The Fellowship encompasses all aspects of clinical involvement in foot and ankle management in a busy 14-member group practice. It includes assessment of new patients, surgical treatment at assistant level, post-operative care and rehabilitation.
The major focus of the Fellowship is to train in arthroscopic reconstruction techniques involving minimally invasive surgery of the hip.
This Fellowship will focus on all aspects of upper limb surgery including trauma and elective reconstruction, sufficient to enter sub-specialty practice if desired. This includes arthroplasty, arthroscopic surgery and microsurgery.
The Fellow will gain further experience and training in all aspects of adult hip and knee joint arthroplasty, including arthroscopic knee ligament reconstruction, in a busy metropolitan practice.
This Fellowship involves a wide range of adult joint reconstructive surgery from joint preserving procedures and primary arthroplasty to complex revision surgery.
The Fellow is expected to become an integral part of the department, which undertakes the full spectrum of arthroplasty work. The Fellow will be assessing new and follow-up patients in clinic and attending theatre lists.
